It is often very surprising the way things had happened when talking about logging operation in the Solomon Islands,Lobbying,bribery and an under-table deals are most common thing with logging operations.
In society we know how things had been happened or way people had done things,So if there is change on the pattern of how people perform things in Society we exactly know their is error and someone is responsible.
The logging in Solomon as far as I can see corrupt dealing are the only way to make bigger profit and keep the Business survive and going because Solomon Islands is having a tight laws on Foreign Company or investors that the Country Know clearly benefit is for a short-time while Impact last long.
Today,if you can make a quick survey on who support logging and who is not,I can tell you that the 90% of the Solomon Islanders will go against the logging existence in Solomon's.
But the interesting question is why are you have the highest numbers of logging companies in you country? The answer is the logging Companies are professors of corrupt deals and they are tightly associate with the important decisions makers of the Land and the Government.
This is the main reason for logging in the Solomon Islands to maintain their dangerous harvest of our forest.Because no one will speak to them because everyone they see as their treat have been bribe with money all the time.

Landownership system in Solomon is the Basis for Increasing Logging Impact on the Forestry In Solomon's
Solomon Islands 99% of the land are customary land that owned by the tribes that the government has no Authority over these lands but the tribe and the tribe leaders who has the power over them.
Tribal members are powerless in influencing the tribal leaders upon any decision on to the land, which means that they have to subject to the Leaders for any decision. This is a significant reason that contributes to increasing logging Negative impact on the forestry in the Solomon’s.
Logging dealers in Solomon Islands have exactly known this system therefore in any logging dealings for an operation in any particular land the dealers must brain-wash the chief of the Land first.
The falling down of the Land Leader for any Logging operation under-table deals in the Solomon Islands definitely means Logging Company is securing security for wide operation they may done during their logging in the land because they know the Land main leader will defend them. The land Head in Solomon Islands are more like Dictators, but not really dictators but as far as it can be said that they are over-using the respect and power that the members of the tribe has ores them.
Women in Solomon Culture perception are second class people in terms of Land so women are prohibit Humans to contribute on any decision regard lands. The Important Normal Question that any one can ask is why women have no strong say in terms of Land and logging operation in Solomon Islands Such in influencing decisions. The answer is simple and it is because of the Cultural teachings of the Solomon Islands that women must stay away from Issues in-relate to Land because it is the Men’s duty or role. Solomon Islands Trees quilities has been decling slowly as increasing logging operation in the country said Geographer up coming scholar, patrick Pikasa.
Solomon Islands Trees were rank highiest quility in the world market for the last 10 years,but according to a reseach conducted by the solomon Islands Goegraphy students of the Universitry of the South pacific last year that orgnised by Parick Pikasa with the assistance from the Ministry of Natural Resouces and Forestry in solomon Islands report indicate a 61% decline of Solomon Trees quilities.
This indicate in Next ten years solomon Islands tress can not compete in the world market.
The declining tress quilities means unsound economy and larger harvest from the forest said Pikasa.
It will be a disaster for solomon Islands in years to come because Nature takes million of years to regain their normal standard, but we still have a chance yet, this time is the time for government to forcus on new development otherwise the country experience what had happened during the ethnic tension.

Plant Species
From the report of FAO assesment on 12 March this year,Solomon Islands Forest were dengerousely over-explited.Solomon Islands Currenlty has 4500 plant species including varietis of orchaids and more than 1000 vascular plant species.The report indicate that as the result of heavy logging industry in solomon Islnds today,10% of the 4500 plant species will vanish within five years.The rate at which plant species are loosing at is 71% in 10 years.
Some Non-government organisations has engaged in a strong campaign aganst logging but result were not so good because no enough support from the National government and Landowners becuase logging is contribute 60% to the Solomons national Economy and most rural people rely on it for income.

Solomon Islands Forests and Logging
Solomon Islands is a tropical country in the south pacific which has the second largest virgin forest to Papua New Guinea. Logging development in the Solomon's started about 1990s when the Asian Countries own logging companies invest into the Solomon's economy with the assistance of the National government.
Since those days-Solomon Islands Virgin Forests started to decline in-terms of plants species- tree quality-and tree sizes. Such impacts causes looses of plants species that were culturally important and medically used for Medicines in Solomon Islands. Currently, the Forests level in Solomon Islands is below the normal or natural standard means in many and huge land mass were covered only with secondary Forests.
